Camp Rock Forward

A Place Where Every Child Matters

Founded in 2008 as Royal Family Kids Camp Belvidere, our camp has been a place for children in foster care to create positive memories. In 2021, we evolved into an independent camp—now known as Camp Rock Forward. Our mission is to help children in foster care heal through activities that nurture resilience, build self-confidence, and restore trust. Ultimately, we aim to create positive childhood memories that last a lifetime. Camp Rock Forward is a one-week overnight camp hosted by Belvidere Methodist Church in the Wisconsin Dells area.

Exciting Activities & Unforgettable Adventures

Camp launches from the Belvidere Methodist Church, on Monday morning, June 16th.

Camp begins with a hot breakfast and games while waiting for all campers to arrive.

The VIP treatment begins with a coach bus ride to the camp location.

Staff and counselors cheer as the bus arrives. Each camper is announced as they step off the bus and meet their counselors.

Each morning campers enjoy music and stories and large motor activities. Afternoons are spent canoeing and swimming. All camp activities are designed to build self-confidence and teamwork. Campers receive support and encouragement from counselors and staff. Special evening activities include a carnival, scavenger hunt and a variety show.

One of the most cherished traditions at Camp is our Everybody’s Birthday Party. Each child is announced as they enter the dining hall to the applause of their peers and counselors. Campers enjoy traditional birthday party games, laughter, and presents. “Happy Birthday” is sung individually to each child.

Each child leaves camp with a camp photo album, documenting their camp adventures. Whether it’s learning to swim, climbing to the top of the rock wall or flying through the air on the zipline, we hope the photos will remind them of a week where they laughed, met kind and gentle adults who care about them, and learned they can do anything.

Counselors and Staff Favorite Memories

"Crate stacking with the campers and watching all of them rock climb outside."

Haji Staff Member

"My favorite memory was during the carnival night. My cup tricks were able to stump everyone... except one young camper. He was impossible to trick and was too smart for his own good. He even ended up taking the cups for himself to stump me. This was a very humbling and yet funny moment."

Saxon Staff Member

"Watching all the kids play the Minute to Win it Games at the birthday party!"

Hope Camp Nurse

"Watching the kids show their courage and even beating the adults in rock climbing, and music time with Dan!"

Dominic Staff Member

"My favorite memory from camp was when the campers did the zip line and I got to see the kids become brave."

Trey Camp Counselor

"I am always thrilled when I hear that a child got adopted. Even though we miss the child not coming to camp, I am happy that the child has a permanent family."
